The Story

My name is Scott Barnes, and I purchased my 1968 Ford Bronco in 1974.  I drove it the entire time I attended Mesquite High School in Mesquite, TX.  When I entered the Marine Corps in 1978, rather than getting pics of my girlfriend, I received pics of my Bronco (My folks sent them, and had put a USMC license plate on the front).

Throughout the years, I transformed it from the stock Holly Green paint to Black with Red Pin striping.  I put power steering on it from a wrecked 1970's model, and converted the 3 speed column shifter to a Hurst shifter on the floor.

I took my wife on our first date in it.  It was raining and it leaked like crazy.  The shifter also locked up on me that night, but she married me anyway, and we left our wedding in my Bronco.

A few years later, my wife told me she was pregnant with our first child and I panicked.  I only owned 2 things of value - my Bronco and a Weatherby shotgun.  I sold them both, much to the chagrin of my wife.

Now here I am, trying to locate my Bronco and not having any luck.  Read about the Bronco and let me know if you have any clues as to where it is.  There is a reward if you can help.

**VIN Database searches don't work because in 1968, Broncos used a short VIN code.**
